This is the official Shetland Wool Week hat for 2018, the Merrie Dancers Toorie by Elizabeth Johnston, this year's patron.
I did some small modifications - details on Ravelry.
"For those who are unfamiliar, NaKniMitMo stands for National Knit Mittens Month. It is a celebration of mittens! Why mittens? Well, January is one of the coldest months of the year and mittens are much warmer than gloves. They are relatively quick. You can be brave in color choices. You can try out different techniques like stranded colorwork, cables, etc. There are now more than 13,000 patterns tagged as mittens on Ravelry. So much to choose from! You always have enough yarn in stash for mittens."
